About Simone de Beauvoir, a French philosopher and existentialist, changed the course of feminism and women’s position in society with her pen. She gained an M.A. from the Sorbonne and, at 21, became the youngest person ever to pass the competitive agregatión examination in philosophy. Her key book “The Second Sex” empowered women across the world with a philosophical foundation for feminism.
