Ordbord jewellery is made from pure sterling silver with a minimum millesimal fineness of 925. To ensure the health of our customers, all products are nickel-free. 

Care and Cleaning

It is natural and unavoidable for precious metal items to wear down. Sterling silver will always tarnish over time and gold plating will fade with wear. Some simple steps, however, will ensure your Ordbord jewellery pieces remain brilliant and correctly coloured for a longer time. 

Wear the jewellery normally along your day but remove it during exercise, showers, swimming, and times of long exposure to the sun. Water and oils will affect the brilliance of the silver and the longevity of the gold plating. Avoid contact with lotions, perfumes, and other chemicals. Wipe down your jewellery piece with a soft cloth after use and store it in a cool, dry place.

Precious metals are soft. Take care to protect your piece from sharp impacts, scratches, or other rough forces, as they may leave marks. Store individual jewellery pieces separately when possible, so they do not scratch each other.

You may occasionally wish to use professional jewellery cleaning products but read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully before doing so. Sterling silver jewellery can be cleaned without issue, but cleaning gold plated sterling silver may damage the plating.
